EXCELLENCE IN TRAINING FOR A QUALIFIED WORLD-CLASS WORKFORCE

Workforce training, qualification and industry accreditation lies at the heart of LGTA activities, delivered under the twin strategy of support from the CITB nationally, but aligned with local priorities and needs.  The Association also aims at working with the grain of local construction training providers and Colleges, to ensure the most cost-effective route to the goal of maintaining a well-qualified, world-class workforce is pursued.

The CITB runs a substantial core programme of construction-related training, alongside which local Colleges and commercial training providers part-fill training gaps aligned to their organisational priorities and expertise.

This leaves a very clear and important role for the Association to complete the training-provision picture by responding directly to remaining training gaps as identified by members through regular needs-surveys, and through the Training Provision Steering Group.

The training offered is by hand-picked suppliers, and is excellent value for money.
